Asbestos roof removal: FAQs
Is removing an asbestos roof a licensed job?
Usually no. Asbestos-cement roof sheeting is a lower-risk, non-licensed material, so it can be removed under controlled non-licensed conditions — dampened down, taken off whole where possible, and double-bagged. We still dispose of it as hazardous waste with full consignment notes.
How much does asbestos roof removal cost?
A single garage roof typically starts from around £380–£900; larger industrial cement roofs are priced per square metre, usually £25–£50/m² including disposal. See our asbestos removal cost guide for a full breakdown, or send a photo for a fixed quote.
Can you remove the roof without breaking the sheets?
Yes — that is exactly the safe method. We wet the sheets, unbolt and lift them off whole wherever possible to minimise fibre release, then wrap and bag them on site before consigned disposal.
