Artex & Textured Coating Removal: your questions
Does all Artex contain asbestos?
Not all of it, but textured coatings applied before the year 2000 frequently contain a small percentage of chrysotile (white) asbestos. The only way to be sure is a quick sample test, which we can turn around in 24 hours.
Can you remove Artex without making a mess?
Yes. We use a controlled wet-strip method inside a sheeted, sealed area, which keeps dust down and leaves a clean, skim-ready ceiling behind. The space is air-tested before we leave.
